The Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission is a state agency that advocates for the rights of individuals with disabilities. This is done through the Human Rights Authority, which investigates rights violations committed against individuals with disabilities by service providers, the Office of State Guardian, the last resort guardians for adults in Illinois, Legal Advocacy Services, which represents individuals in mental health court and the Special Education Collaborative, which assists families with special education needs.
